CAUCUSES THIS WEEKEND BEFORE NEGOTIATIONS

Dear Colleagues,

NOW you have the chance to get your voice heard and perhaps not feel like your speaking only to yourself.

This weekend is the weekend for the caucuses before formal negotiations next week.

Though someone from the national said anyone wishing to attend must be APPROVED by the Local (Rather rich, wouldn’t you say?),
one of our local officers confirmed that any Local 47 member can indeed attend. If anyone tells you you cannot attend the INFORMAL caucuses lodge an immediate complaint and let us know as well.

It’s time folks. Take this opportunity to get a true lay of the land by coming, listening and perhaps participating. Composers in particular should come and let our union know that changes need to be made before it’s too late. Package deals are a reality and are NOT going away.

As an aside, let your union people know if you find it a gross conflict of interest that the same person who represents the International RMA in negotiations also represents the RANK AND FILE MUSICIAN! The Rank and File representative should be someone OUTSIDE of the RMA and outside of the recording venue.

Your voice is needed! come out and be heard!

Local 47 members can go to listen and maybe speak up to see where the next 3 years of your recording future – your input may be heard – or RMA will just control everything again while Seattle and many other places continue to work their butts off.

COMPOSERS ARE URGED TO GO AND TELL THEM ABOUT YOUR
“PACKAGE” DEALS AND THE INABILITY TO GET THE PROJECTS
DONE IN TOWN –

Please attend these meetings either day

Thanks to all who support open discussion and reality
