This panel will discuss issues facing composers and<\/p>\n
arrangers related to publishing and how to make<\/p>\n
their music available to a wider audience. Changes<\/p>\n
in music publishing, recording, and distribution<\/p>\n
over the last two decades have some composers<\/p>\n
stymied, but some of the basic principles and<\/p>\n
business models still hold true. We will offer<\/p>\n
practical advice and solutions to address some of<\/p>\n
the problems we currently face (including some<\/p>\n
\u201cwork a-rounds\u201d), and will cover topics such as<\/p>\n
self-publishing, promotion, marketing, distribution,<\/p>\n
and music licensing. We have plenty of ideas to share<\/p>\n
regarding how creative musicians can monetize their<\/p>\n
years of hard work in order to improve their income<\/p>\n
stream, and promise to keep the complaints and<\/p>\n
doomsday scenarios to a minimum.<\/p>\n

\nOn Sun Sep 10 @ 7 PM, Roger Kellaway and I will be performing a duo piano Jazz Bakery event at Zipper Concert Hall, Colburn School of Music (details in the links below\u2026).<\/p>\n
Roger and I have been dear friends and musical compatriots for decades\u2026 and linked together on so many of his projects. I\u2019m very excited about this unique evening Roger has designed\u2026<\/p>\n
It will be 2 pianos, bass and drums (with the amazing talents of\u00a0 Darek Oles and Peter Erskine!)<\/p>\n
A jazz concert\u2026 with the centerpiece being a 30\u2019 3-movement composition, \u201cMany Moods of McCartney\u201d \u2026 with 10 songs of Paul\u2019s, arranged and adapted by Roger\u2026 (the occasion being the 50th Anniversary of The Beatles\u2026 😀 )<\/p>\n
From my perspective, it\u2019s a really unique, challenging endeavor, and there will be individual moments for us and other cool stuff\u2026<\/p>\n
