Greetings! For those of you who\u2019ve never heard of us, the Committee for a More Responsible Local 47 came into being over three years ago to restore and protect the rank and file\u2019s voice in Los Angeles, advertise members\u2019 events and pass along important info. We also act as a safe haven for those members who want to anonymously speak out.<\/p>\n
Along with the Freelance Musicians Assn and other interested members, the COMMITTEE, among other things, exposed Hal Espinosa\u2019s hiring of a convicted felon as General Manager of our Local and that felon\u2019s unauthorized use of Hal Espinosa\u2019s Local 47 Credit Card to create an email account posing as the Committee. The Espinosa crew had to be forced through a motion to investigate.<\/p>\n

Three years ago the Espinosa Administration doubled the quorum which resulted in over two years with no meetings, during which time this felon (following orders of Hal or Vince Trombetta, the Vice-President) fired key employees in departments most important to the rank and file members, dismantled many of the member services and generally ran roughshod over our employees.<\/p>\n
For years it has been obvious that Hal Espinosa is a puppet for the RMALA (Recording Musicians Association\/LA) Elites, a group of 150+ that control most of the top film recording in Hollywood, and has been pulling the strings of the Local 47 Executive Officers and several Officers on the board, much to our Local\u2019s detriment. <\/p>\n
HAL ESPINOSA HAS PROVEN AGAIN AND AGAIN TO BE NOTHING MORE THAN AN RMALA PUPPET!<\/p>\n
If Mr. Espinosa is allowed to ascend to the AFM Presidency you will be handing our federation over to the RMALA Elites. As much as Hal has been a disaster for non-elite recording and non-recording members of Local 47, the damage has been limited to our region.<\/p>\n
Don\u2019t sign the death warrant of our Federation by voting for an RMALA puppet, Hal Espinosa!<\/p>\n
The RMALA Elites have gotten desperate to take control of the Federation and that is what the election of Hal Espinosa would mean to them \u2013 total control of the AFM. Do not allow this to happen to our Union! Their disastrous, elitist business model would spell the same disaster for the AFM that it caused film recording work here in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n
Please do NOT vote for Hal Espinosa for President.<\/p>\n
