\nFederal budget proposal was released on March 16, 2017
\ncutting the National Endowment for the Arts
\nas well as many valued social services.
\nWhat can we do now?<\/p>\n
1) First of all, the League of American Orchestras<\/p>\n
has\u00a0created a guide to what actions to take to speak up<\/p>\n
and defend the NEA:<\/p>\n

II. Los Angeles Jazz Society’s\u00a0 – BILL GREEN MEMBERSHIP BRUNCH

\nBill Green Mentorship Concert\/Brunch<\/p>\n
It will now start check-in and lunch at 12noon,

Music will start at 1pm with two sets of VERY talented
\nyoung musicians plus a set with our amazing Mentor

PLEASE NOTE: \u00a0The LA Marathon takes place this

\nBLVD. PAST HIGHLAND until it reaches Orange…
\nthen it goes South to Sunset and travels west.
\nMost of the participants will be through Hollywood
\nby noon and some streets will start opening up,
\nbut access routes will be limited… coming from
\nthe North (no access from Highland, Vine or
\nGower until after 12noon)<\/p>\n

Special ASMAC ‘First\u00a0WEDNESDAYS’ presentation

\u201cLive at M.B.\u2019s Studio\u201d<\/p>\n
Studio virtuoso percussionist – drummer M.B. Gordy,
\nwill present an intimate show and tell demonstration
\nof his large ethnic and rare percussion instrument
\narsenal that has been featured in countless motion
\npictures, television shows and recordings.<\/p>\n
This interactive evening taking place at MB\u2019s state
\nof the art percussion studio in Tarzana and will
\nalso include discussion of the instrument usage
\npossibilities, various sounds, notation and much
\nmore. (Event will run approx 2 hours)<\/p>\n
Bring all your percussion questions !

He has been working as a freelance musician and producer in the L.A. area for many years. He has had the fortune of working with noted producers including Peter Asher, Don Was, Mat Wallace ,Rob Cavallo and Scotty Morris, among others.\u00a0 \u00a0From 2001 until April of 2005, M.B. was the percussionist\/drummer for the Doobie Brothers and from 2005 to 2011 played with Rita Coolidge as well as freelancing in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n
M.B. is currently endorsed by Yamaha, Remo, Pork Pie, Vic Firth, Toca, Vaughncraft, Rhythmtech and Paiste. For the past 25 years he has also been involved with the Yamaha Education Division as a clinician and education consultant.<\/p>\n
